• Shall We or Shall we not

  • John Frederick Herring Jnr
  • Oils
  • Circa 1850
  • Signed oils on canvas 16 x 24 inches (Unlined)
  • Shall we or shall we not, that is the question. Herring had his tongue in his cheek when he painted this picture. The two horses are itchy and seem unable to to decide weather to stay put or join in the chase. The Cows seem to find amusement in this, but the other farm animals are showing complete indifference and are getting on eating or scratching about. For information on John Frederick Jnr see the painting next on the website also painted by Herring
